Summary of the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Meeting

February 11, 2008

The Board of Education Committee of the Whole met at 5:30 p.m., on Monday, February 11, 2008, in the Information Center at John Adams Middle School. Present were Jim Spicer, President; Michele Appelgate, Tim Becker, Darshini Jayawardena and Mark Young, Directors.

Physical education instructors Andrea Ludwig (high school), Mike Glynn (middle school), Stacey Furness (middle school), Paul Childress (elementary) and Dave Wilson (elementary) provided the Board with a report on the district physical education program and curriculum.

Mike Carlson, Supervisor of Food Services, provided the Board with an update of the district food service program including menu selection, food preparation and a tour of the Mason City High School and John Adams Middle School kitchen area.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. No action was taken during work/study session.
