Summary of the Minutes of the Special Session of the Board of Education

March 31, 2008

The Board of Education met in special session at 12:23 p.m., on Monday, March 31, 2008, in the Board Room of the Administration Building. Present were Jim Spicer, President; Michele Appelgate, Gary Hoffman, Darshini Jayawardena, Robert Thoms and Mark Young, Directors. Director Tim Becker was present via conference call.

A motion was made by Director Hoffman and seconded by Director Thoms to approve the agenda. A vote was taken resulting in ayes all.

A motion was made by Director Young and seconded by Director Appelgate to hold a closed session as authorized by section 21.5(1)(a) of the open meetings law to review or discuss records which are required or authorized to be kept confidential. A roll call vote was taken resulting in ayes all. The Board went into closed session at 12:25 p.m.

Director Becker, in attendance via conference call, exited the meeting at 12:33 p.m.

Director Becker reentered the meeting at 2:45 p.m. via conference call.

At 3:35 p.m. a motion was made by Director Young and seconded by Director Hoffman to return to open session. A roll call vote was taken resulting in ayes all.

A motion was made by Director Young and seconded by Director Hoffman to adjourn. A vote was taken resulting in ayes all. The meeting was adjourned at 3:37 p.m.
