Class of
1956 unites and endows scholarship
The “Class of 1956” took the
phrase “be true to your school” to the next level. The class who graduated 343 students 50 years
ago pooled together and raised over $25,000. The funds will be used to endow an annual
scholarship through the administration of the Education Foundation of Mason
City Public Schools.
Classmate Sue (Penney) McDevitt ignited the effort that received donations from
over 60 students.
