Welcome to the Harding Elementary webpage!

Harding Elementary is PK-4 school with approximately 375 students.  The professional and caring staff is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment that develops responsible learners.

The Mason City Community School District develops goals that focus on improving student performance.  The district’s 2011-2012 annual achievement goals are:

Reading

  • The percent of students in a grade level cohort who meet the criteria for free or reduced price lunch (low SES) and who are proficient, as measured by the reading comprehension sub-test of the Iowa Assessments, will increase from their previous school year (2010-2011).  Data points for this goal will be grades 4, 6, 8 & 11.

Mathematics

  • The percent of students in a grade level cohort who meet the criteria for free or reduced price lunch (low SES) and who are proficient, as measured by the mathematics sub-test of the Iowa Assessments, will increase from their previous school year (2010-2011).  Data points for this goal will be grades 4, 6, 8 & 11.

Parents are an integral part of a child’s school success.  Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled throughout the school year to share students’ progress and to develop positive relationships between school and families.  Parents are encouraged to attend school events and Harding PTO meetings, volunteer, eat lunch at school with your child, and assist with our fundraiser and events.

Thank you for visiting the Mason City Community School District website and the Harding Elementary webpage.  Also included at this site is our monthly parent newsletter, staff directory, Parent and Student Handbook, and school calendar.  Please feel free to contact the school at (641) 421-4406 for further information.

Sincerely,
